Digging through my own photo archives the other day I came across this old photo of our bathroom as we found it. Now, I realize I'm giving a hell of a lot of air time to a roughly 6 x 8ft room, but damn it it's been a lot of work. And I assure you I'm not done with indulging in details. But for now, take a look at the dramatic before and after!
Not everything worked out the way we planned, which is normal, but it is just so much better. I'll admit I was very fond of those robin's egg blue tiles in the original version of the bathroom until we discovered they were cheap plastic, and really they never came clean, which is kind of important to me in a bathroom wall. And the new sink! And the bigger medicine chest! And other details like the lack of the nasty old blind and decaying curtain. All better. And these photos don't even show our fabulous new built in shelves and little wall pockets for bathroom stuff. All this to say, for a low budget/high elbow grease reno I'm declaring this officially a success.
